Portmarnock Golf Club

Portmarnock Golf Club (Golf Links Road, Portmarnock, Co. Dublin) – this golf club, which is just north of Dublin, was established in 1894 (attesting to the sport’s long-standing tradition in Ireland). It was originally just nine holes, with another nine being added two years later. This has been a long-time site of the Irish Open (being held as far back as 1927). Other tournaments have also been held here, such as the British Amateur Championship, the Walker Cup, and the Canada Cup. Portmarnock, which currently has 27 holes, was voted the second-best golf course in Ireland by Golf Digest Ireland in 2011.
