Dublin Theatre Festival

Festival de Teatro de Dublín

Festival de Teatro de Dublín

Dublin Theatre Festival (various sites within Dublin) – launched in 1957, Dublin Theatre Festival is an annual event that brings together artists, theatre-makers and audiences from Ireland and around the world. The festival currently takes place over 18 days from the final Thursday in September to the second Saturday in October (at various theaters and cultural centers in Dublin, such as the Abbey Theatre, Smock Alley Theatre, Gate Theatre, Project Arts Centre, Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, and other locales). The plays presented range from Shakespearean productions to recently-written dramatic works.

At the heart of the festival is the city of Dublin – its people and its stories – and a commitment to contributing to the vibrant social and cultural life of the Irish capital. The spirit of the festival lies in the people who engage with its organizers as dedicated friends or curious spectators, and it welcomes and values the participation of all participating artists, audiences and guests. This Festival aims to capture the imagination of Dublin’s citizens and nurtures a sense of connection and community in the city. See its website for details: www.dublintheatrefestival.com
